staff or uses sub contractors for your window cleaning business then you
will need to take out a combined liability insurance policy including
both Public and Employers Liability Insurance.
Under the Employers' Liability (Compulsory Insurance) Act 1969 you are required by law to ensure that the welfare of yor employees or subcontractors is protected should the suffer an injury or contract a disease whilst at work. Any policy that you arrange has to have a minimum level of indemnity of £5,000,000 for Employer's Liability Insurance. The Health & Safety Executive can and will fine any business that does not have this minimum level of cover to protect their employees. The fine can be as much as £2,500 for each day that you are without suitable insurance.
